Come and join us for a Photowalk through Old Katy on Saturday, June 8. We will meet at Multiplicity at 1306 Avenue A, Katy at 10 am and then spend a couple hours photographing around Old Katy. This presents a great opportunity for you to build up some shots for the "All About Katy" competition as well.

The theme will be the interaction between texture and shape. Tom Haymes will talk for a few minutes about the assignment and will provide advice as you shoot. We will then enjoy a light lunch at Multiplicity before adjourning to their meeting room where Tom will load your favorite shots onto his laptop for a group critique of the day’s efforts in Multiplicity's cabana room. We should wrap up by 2 or 3.

The fee to cover lunch will be $15 per person. We hope you can join us, rain or shine. Lunch includes drinks. Dietary needs need to be stated ahead of time. We will cut off 2 days before the event to give Multiplicity time to arrange the food.

There will be a Member's-Only Meeting at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 18 at Babaloo's (22756 Westheimer Pkwy  Katy, TX 77450). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed changes to the by-laws. The proposed revisons by-laws are here. Changes include the following:

  1. Membership dues are now paid on a calendar-year basis as was decided at the October 2012 membership meeting.
  2. The procedure for elections has changed. Nominations are now due by March 31 and elections will be held online during the month of April. We are working on a mechanism to ensure secret ballots.
  3. Provision for the Photography Special Interest Group (SIG) was added. Those selecting the SIG will have $30 of their membership fee directed toward photography-only events.
  4. The creation of a Photography SIG Vice-President board member was added
  5. Provision for the creation of up to 2 other SIGs and attendant VPs was added with the concurrence of the board. These officers will be elected in the same manner as other officers.
  6. Provision was made for past presidents to continue as advisors to the board in a non-voting capacity.

Please join us to review these changes and to vote on the final version. We will then proceed with nominations and elections as specified in the new document.
