Vendor Hours:  10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A component of the West Houston Jazz Festival / Katy Guitar Fest will be a “family-friendly” vendor area, in which the public can stroll by booths showcasing various products and services!

For the local artist, craftsperson, or business owner, this event will provide you with a wonderful opportunity to expose and promote your product or service to the general public!

As you know, this type of face to face interaction fosters a greater awareness of you and your product / service, will allow you to gain additional contacts, and you may even benefit from on-site sales.

Call for Artists: Art on the Lake

ARTreach is hosting Art on the Lake on April 9th and will feature our local community artists and arts educators.  Our sponsors are the Texas PTA, TCA and Firethorne.

Flyer attached. Booth fees are subsidized by ARTreach.  Our grant will sponsor up to 10 Community Artists to exhibit at this event for free.  Please RSVP to register.  You may exhibit your work, your student’s work, sell your own artwork, and/or promote your own program to encourage children and families to participate in the ARTS!  Exhibiting Artists must be able to provide their own 10 x10 tent and table and are responsible for setting up on time and maintaining a neat and inviting space 11 AM- 3PM.  Exhibiting artists are asked to provide a demo or interactive activity to encourage children to participate in the arts.   

Set up 10 AM. Event ends at 3PM. Saturday April 9th at Firethorne Community in Katy.

This is a free community event made possible by ARTreach pARTners and a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts to promote art and music education.

Linda Watson Stein Workshop

I , Linda Watson Stein,  will be giving my annual workshop on March 4th  at the Hobby Lobby on Fry Road near I-10.  The workshop will be from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday.  It is going to be lots of fun...we are going

to be painting a "TEXAS" Spring Landscape in an impressionistic style.  -Media -- Acrylic or Oil

Size approx. 16 x 20 or 18 x 24.  COST OF WORKSHOP  - $75.00.

Texas Wild HeARTs Shows at Chel

 

Chel Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Texas Wild Hearts, featuring the rodeo photography of Karl Johnson.  Karl will show large prints in old wood frames, most of which have not been show in public before.  He says:

 

My rodeo photography... is not just about getting great action shots of the competitors.  [It] is about capturing the rodeo, the event, the community, the culture.  I capture the action, the animals, the people, the art, and the essence of it all.  Even if you can't be at that rodeo, you'll clinch a fist to help the competitor hold on, hear the prayer being said behind the chutes, smile at the child and her puppy, wonder who that good lookin' thing is, smell leather, and feel a little grit in your teeth.

 

Each of Chel Gallery's fourteen artists will have work on display.  Chel is a cooperative gallery featuring a variety of media including pen and ink, oil, pastels, oil with palette knife, photography, jewelry, metal sculpture, pottery, and pressed flower paintings. Located in Smithville, Texas at 207 Olive Street, we welcome visitors every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Texas Wild HeARTs opens at Chel Art Gallery on Saturday, March 12 with a reception from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
